STATE of Mind
STATE was born from a desire to create something rooted: in place, in season, in community. It’s a café, a kitchen, a creative space—but more than anything, it’s a reflection of Tu, Willis, and Matt’s shared vision to offer something personal and grounded in the everyday beauty of good food and thoughtful design. Inspired by Tu’s Vietnamese-American upbringing, Willis’s belief in food as a universal language of connection, and Matt’s creative eye, STATE is about finding joy in the present moment—whatever state you’re in.
STATE of Being
Right now, STATE is a restaurant with a rotating seasonal menu, a gathering space, and a home for flowers—grown here, arranged here, celebrated here. We’re always evolving with the seasons, the land, and the people around us. You’ll find our breakfast burritos alongside housemade syrups for coffee, weekend brunch with friends, and florals picked fresh from the field. STATE isn’t static—it grows, shifts, and stretches with whatever’s inspiring us at the time.
